List universities in Istanbul Istanbul holds some of the best establishments
of a higher education in Turkey, including a certain number of
public and private universities. The majority of the honourable
universities are public, but these last years there also was a
growth in the number of private universities. The university of
Istanbul [1453] is the Turkish educational establishment oldest
in the city, whereas the technical university of Istanbul [1773]
is the technical second-old woman university of the world entirely
devoted to sciences of technology. Other universities of the State
